Abbreviation List
ALP = Aerial ladder platform
ERV = Enhanced rescue vehicle
FoT = Foam tender
L6P = 6x6 all terrain pump
GP's = General purpose vehicle
ET = Emergency tender (6x6)
RsQ = Rescue pump
4x4 = 4 wheel drive pump
It should be noted that although Ronaldsway airport fire service are not part of the IOM Fire & Rescue Service organisation we do have a very close working relationship with them and carry out regular joint training exercises. I will include pictures of their appliances on a seperate page.

Douglas station has both wholetime and retained crew assigned to it. The wholetime crew work a 2 x days, 2 x nights, 2 off, 2 on call rota system. The retained stations still have their original sirens that operate only in daylight hours to alert crew and locals to a "Turnout".
